There are two distinct types of prescription insomnia remedies. It is best to start with a non-benzodiazepine like Lunesta since this type of medication has less risk of dependency. If you are really desperate then you could try a benzodiazepine like Valium or Xanax. Every prescription insomnia remedy comes with a risk of side effects such as dependency. Some of these medications are dangerous when mixed with other drugs.
